Ann showed great religious tolerance, although an Anglican she would sometimes attend our Unitarian services at Harris Manchester College with husband Richard who was one of our members. One Sunday, not long after Richard's death Ann spoke to us of their lovely joint book, "A Dog's view of the Gospels". Her sense of humour was delightful and on one occasion she told me why she chose a saucy numberplate for her car - it was so that she could remember it!
